In my role as Managing Director for Asia and Asia Pacific, I lead our business organization focused on advising and supporting companies as they transition toward Net Zero.
In what way do you and the teams you lead further ENGIE Impact’s mission to accelerate sustainable transformation?
We work with our clients to bring them on board the decarbonization journey which involves a lot of awareness-building both on the business and regulatory context, as well as on the techno-commercial actions required to bring about sustainable transformation. Each organization is unique and the triggers for setting a climate ambition and working on the decarbonization pathway depends on their drivers — be it regulatory, customer-led, or investor-driven. Our multi-disciplinary team has a strong understanding of these distinct elements and thus is able to build conviction with our clients on the reasons for decarbonization, as well as support them on the execution through the experience and skills that come with our heritage as an energy company.
What does success at ENGIE Impact look like?
At ENGIE Impact, our team is driven by the purpose of accelerating decarbonization, and for us success is to support our clients in building conviction and confidence in their decarbonization plans and in seeing these ideas through to execution. We are passionate about getting organizations convinced about being more sustainable and implementing tangible actions that lead to significant reductions in carbon emissions and energy consumption. Success is also helping spread a greater awareness and getting people and organizations championing the cause for accelerating sustainability.
How did your background prepare you for this role at ENGIE Impact?
I have been fortunate to have spent an almost equal share of my professional life across operational roles (in ITC, Honeywell, and Borouge) and as a strategy consultant (McKinsey, Parthenon, and now ENGIE Impact). This gives me a unique perspective in supporting our clients on the challenges involved in embedding sustainability across all levels of the organization and how to design solutions that can be operationalized to deliver actual impact. Plus, I have a strong grounding in Asia and understand some of the challenges faced by our countries and businesses as they manage economic growth and sustainability. I feel well positioned to develop and implement decarbonization solutions in that context.
What do you like to do when you’re not in the office?
When not in office, I like to spend time with my family and reading up on a diverse range of topics.
