Company expresses gratitude for the contributions of outgoing CEO Mathias Lelievre
New York, NY – June 14, 2024– ENGIE Impact has welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer Jacques Boonen, effective today, and offers sincere thanks for the contributions of outgoing CEO Mathias Lelievre.
Climate change is the most critical issue of our time. No region, country, company, or human being is immune from its impact. ENGIE Impact is helping major corporations to establish, measure and meet challenging decarbonization goals – and I’m excited to lead this company.
Jacques Boonen, CEO, ENGIE Impact
Before joining ENGIE Impact as CEO, Boonen served in highly relevant roles across the global energy and services company ENGIE Group, parent company to ENGIE Impact. Most recently, he served as the Head of Distributed Solar and Storage for ENGIE North America, where he had previously been Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy.
Boonen comes to ENGIE Impact with extensive experience in renewable energy, having led strategy for ENGIE Group’s renewables unit and accelerating innovation development and culture there. For more than a decade, he had also worked for SUEZ and ENGIE as a lobbyist and regulatory affairs expert in France and Belgium.
Boonen takes the helm from Mathias Lelievre, who ends a successful five-year term as ENGIE Impact’s CEO. Lelievre was instrumental in the conception and eventual launch of ENGIE Impact in 2019, growing the business to include more than 2,000 employees; 20 global locations; major corporate clients such as Kraft Heinz, Netflix, Fresenius, and more; and decarbonization partnerships with such organizations as the National Football League (NFL).
“I am so proud of the work ENGIE Impact has done to accelerate the decarbonization journeys of so many corporate clients,” said Lelievre. “It’s been a privilege to lead this team of experts and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
